Photographer's Note
While entering to Nepal at the border town of Kakarbhitta, these guys welcome warmly the tourists. They were talking and joking. A souvenir photo taken on the Mechi bridge. Kakarbhitta is the eastern terminus of Nepal's east-west Mahendra highway at the country's eastern border with Darjeeling district, West Bengal state, India. There is a border checkpoint for customs. Indian and Nepalese nationals cross without restriction.

Hello Miguel,
It is always pleasing to receive a warm welcome when entering a new country. These two look very colourful and certainly cheerful.
Was that their job to welcome visitors or were they touting for trade - maybe a ride in that rickshaw, which also looks very colourful.
Whatever their purpose, this is a very heartwarming photograph using a shallow dof to good use.

Hello Miguel,
I entered Nepal by horse-cart but left with a bicycle rickshaw like that one. So not very much seems to have changed in the border areas for several decades. It's a nice photo, although some adjustments of shadows/highlights could have been possible. It's certainly nice to be greeted by smiles when entering a new country.
