Photographer's Note
Another photo "a la Hitchcock” but of a different temple. Vishvanath temple was not as lucky as the one in my previous post though. It didn’t collapse, but requires support of these unsightly wooden planks. Still, more lucky than a few others, e.g. Jagannarayan Temple.
Gert commented on my last upload and noted that damage was not visible in the photo. Very true, and neither it is in this one so, in WS, you can have a closer look.
I’m sure you will be glad to hear that this is my last post from Patan… ;-)
Greetings from Poland!

Rozpoczne od tego zebys nie konczyla pokazywania nepalskiej serii. Poruszone ptaki na tym zdjeciu wprowadzaja jakis niepokoj, zrozumialy jesli obejrzy sie zdjecia w warsztacie. Swietna seria.
pozdrawiam

Hello Kasia.
The blurry birds are very Hitchcockian, for sure, and not only add blurry energy to the scene, but help take attention away from the timber props. I've just had a look at the previous shot and I like that one more, but this one is still a good reminder that the birds will be flying around even after human constructions have collapsed. Let's hope they can keep this one upright for a considerable time.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Kasia
I like how the motion blurred pigeons at the top frame the gold knob atop the pagoda which I at first mistook for another stationary pigeon surveying the scene below. Tfs!

Hello Kasia,
It's interesting but sad to see that these planks are needed to support the beautiful temple. I wonder how long this temporary solution will remain, until they get money for a proper restoration. In any case it's an important document, and the swarm of pigeons add a nice touch. The workshops are interesting too, but what a disappointment to learn this is your last photo from Patan. Will you now move to Bhaktapur, or maybe even to another of your recently visited countries that have been largely, or completely, absent from TE? ;-)
Have a nice immediate journey!
Gert

Hi Kasia
It's amazing that this temple survives in what seems impossible situations, so mesmerizing & eye-opener beautifully captured looking up from a well considered viewpoint. This is a master's design and a delight to see some convergence which is perfectly displayed here.
Delightful of those birds in flight, is a real bonus as a whole package and a very productive that you spent a bit of time there. The focus and light on the birds is wonderful with the slight blurred wings, adds to the movement and I also like the combination of closer and more distant flocks.
Your skill and patience has been greatly rewarded, fascinating capture here! Congrats.
Best regards

Great to see you posting another one, Kasia. This is another great shot. The old temples vs the buzz of the flying pigeons...terrific! It works!

Hi Kasia
A La Hitchcock or not, the architecture here is amazing, even in the photos, so I could only imagine how it looks in person.
thanks for the WS photos to put it all into perspective and make it more real. Just look around, the buildings are so historic, so old, and look so cool - maybe not the best of adjective to use but it fits for me :) another fine post from Nepal and its people willing to rebuild. cheers

Hi Kasia
The flying pigeons give life to the picture, and the temple is still "alive" thankds to the big planks, the one at the left remains untouched by the earthquake, maybe due to his shape.
Cheers

Witaj Kasiu,

Hello Kasia,
The thumbnail version of this looks like an explosion of birds. However, the full size version reveals that the birds are going in the same general direction, not spreading out. It is still a very nice effect. A well time photograph showing spectacular architecture.
