Photographer's Note
Granite pinnacles on the South West ridge route between camp 1 and camp 2 on Ama Dablam (6856m).
I was part of the International Ama Dablam Expedition 2004 who attempted the peak in March 2004.
Ama Dablam is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world and will be familiar to anyone who has trekked in the Everest region.
The views from the SW ridge are stupendous surrounded as you are by glaciers and soaring, fluted ice peaks.

great shot Richard. This is kind of the scene that we rarely see in TE. good job.
The contrsat is too high, i think, and the big dark shadow on the right is quite distracting to me. hope you have shots from other angles as well ;-)

A vertiginous sight, the colors are interesting like framing all in height, is well made.

Great photo, you recreate some of the drama you must have felt when you were there.
I really enjoyed your travelogue as well, exciting and brave stuff.
cheers, David
