This was originally taken on fomapan 120 B&W film with a Holga camera and then i scanned it to share on the net.

the 400 iso combined with black and white gives a great gritty feel. There's something basic and raw about this shot that I love. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Desiree,
very nice work. If I might suggest shooting such scenes in the gorizontal format? I think the horizontal view is more interesting than having a lot of sky, and you could de-center the fisherman and show more space on the lake

Hello Desiree,
First of all, my belated welcome to TE. I hope you will have the best of time!
I have seen many, many beautiful photos from that Inle Lake. But I have to say this one is different, and for that reason, I appreciate it a lot. I read somewhere that the fishermen on this lake knew so much how people love to photography them, that they don't fish anymore, they just pretend to fish! Huh? Oh well, that was another punch in my already shaken naiveté! ;)
Nevertheless, I like yours because there is something of a painting in it. Good light, nice clouds, and the back of this fisherman (which I don't like much usually, but here it is perfect, I think) makes it a good photo. My only reservation is about the horizon that is not straight. The way it is now, the lake will not be there long! ;)
