Photographer's Note
I couldn't resist uploading another shot from my photo session in a "fisherman's" boat. These poses are even more improbable than in the previous upload.
The note explaining what I was doing in one of those boats is here.
In WS two more authentic photos of life by Inle Lake for Gert.

Hello Kasia ,
Of course , this is an amazing picture with a great back light . But I don't like the idea of giving money to take pictures (only a personal opinion) . So , I prefer your 2 WS , especially the one with the fine cloud , that show us interesting and colorful scenes of the daily life .

Hello Kasia,
I should sigh deeply and wonder what's becoming of the world, but I just have to laugh when I watch this. It's like a performance of Chinese acrobats, or a still from a very silly silent movie (strangely in colour), but it is quite funny, as long as nobody believes this has anything to do with reality. Thank you for including the realistic workshops. They're less fun but definitely more down to earth. But of course you couldn't resist these figures in this light. I understand that perfectly well, and you handled the challenge just as perfectly. And if they can provide you with a free journey to somewhere far away, the much better.
Cheers,
Gert

Hello Kasia,
It is even better than your previous one. Contre-jour makes it even more strong. This a kind of photo I may have converted into BW. It is a matter of taste, however.
Best Regards,

Witaj Kasiu,
to bardziej zabawne niz poprzednie.

Zeby stworzyc taki kadr bez usluznych modeli pewnie trzeba by w tym miejscu spedzic killka tygodni, a i efekt niekoniecznie bylby taki dobry.
Z przyjemnoscia ogladam i czekam na kolejne notatki z podrozy
pozdrawiam
Piotr

Zdravo draga Kasiu. I read your note explaining what you were doing on board and it offers food for thought. I am glad that your moment of generosity was rewarded, showing us the kindness and gentle disposition of these individuals who are prepared to spend a whole day waiting for a few dollars and who recognise empathy shown by someone from afar. Be it staged or not, the photo does show your masterly awareness of composition and your technical skills. Although some distance from each other, their poles(oars) appear to be so close to each other as a central point from which all the energy emanates. Perfect timing and exposure. Srdacni pozdrav. Klaudio.
Are you London based? Moja zena i ja dolazimo u Englesku sljedeci mjesec.

Witaj Kasia,
great the snapshot with the native fishermen to fish with this strange way.I like the excellent environment created from the sunset light with their 'acrobatics' to really impressive me.Meanwhile i don't know how many fishes they catch with this way.

Wielu performersow daje przedstawienia na placach miast, przed kosciolami i w parkach, a ci tutaj wiedza dokladnie, czego chce fotograf, samo zdjecie jest super, a tych aktorow traktuje z przymruzeniem oka

The Intha fishermen always make worthwhile photos even if nowadays they are posed for the tourist. These two show a real balancing act.

Hi Kasia
I think it's aptly titled, an eye catching shot showing clear outlined silhouettes with the acrobatic show and the combined manoeuvers and formations add to the appeal without destroying their integrity. The strong light behind is easy on the eye all jazzed up with superb contrast. Well done, Congrats
Best wishes

Hello Kasia,
The symmetry in the two silhouetted figures of the fisherman is indeed improbable. What a capture! The cone-shaped nets and the fishermen's acrobatic positions both suggest a rehearsed technique that has evolved over time and optimized for the purpose — to fool or impress the fish, to have them come up to the surface, and to jump into the nets! The photo is a 10 on a scale of 10. I will add this beauty to my favorites.
Warm regards, Kasia,
Bulent

Hello Kasia,
You had two fantastic artists here to perform for you. Even after paying for your entrance ticket it is not always allowed to take pictures of the performance. Lucky that they gave you the opportunity to make these amazing, superb picture of their skills.

Dear Kasia
Wow, these two really put on a show for you. And you did them great justice with this beautiful photo. No doubt you were snapping away quickly, so full marks for your quick reflexes and excellent control of the camera settings aswell as the light. The perspective is superb with the wide angle lens adding depth and the image is so sharp, when one considers you were sitting in a moving boat, it really is impressive. Well done, you intrepid traveller you!

Hi Kasia!
It may be far from reality but it's a wonderful shot, the silhouettes are just great and so well placed. I believe you had a great time there and I see nothing wrong about giving them money for the photos, they are far from being rich! Inle is surely an incredible place.

Hello Globe trotter, well first of all how come you have not visited india by now ? :)
you should have a fantastic time here and since photography is your forte i would suggest you travel asap. you will embark on a journey like no other.
well about these gimmicks that the locals are unto is just to make some extra pocket money, they don't usually expect but the sight to a western tourist could mean some handy cash, i was on one the basket boats in the coconut farms in Hoi An, central vietnam and the fisherman spun the basket around with quite incredible speed, like a top, like one of those theme park rides when you small, right? but it was all cool, he enjoyed it as much as i did. there was no signal, or suggestion that he wanted to be tipped at the end of it. but honestly, some damage is done, and i speak for myself and from what i have observed india. some foreign tourist who aspire to make photos end up paying the locals only for photographs ! to me, its not good taste, if you have to, you could just buy something on their behalf etc. what happens eventually, they expect it from every tourist who would want to make some candid photos too. They get aggressive, see it as a breach of private space or a dent in their business. Photography is not about that really. I think if you could smile and have a small conversation and exchange ideas, money is the last thing on their minds.
but these little gimmicks make your trip, tips aside. i like the photo and fact that you opted for a fast shutter to make the silhouettes stand out.
cheers

Hello Kasia,
What a fantastic shot, with the backlighting! During my trip to Inle Lake, I did not get too many nice poses from these 'leg rowers'..

Hi Kasia,
A Myanmar/Burma classic. You capture this moment with perfect clarity and balance (much like these guys manage). A fine photo. Your Bio says you are a landscape photographer, but you are much more than that.

This looks really artistic from the point of view of the acrobats or of the photographer. The dark silhouettes on the setting sun are just magnificent ! And the way you caught the setting sun's reflexion in the sea, really enhaces the picture !
I really admire the skill of those fishermen, whether it's to catch fish or not.
Thanks for sharing.
Warm regards.
Marie-Louise.
