Photographer's Note
More then hundred years ago many Tamils from Southern India and Chinese from southern China emigrated to Malaysia. They came looking for work and many of them made it good like this Chinese vendor int he Cowboy market in downtown Alor Star. Her parents came with almost nothing except the will to work hard. Her daughter now has this stall of dried food like tofu, preserved duck eggs e.g. the 1000 year eggs, Chinese tea varieties, spices and many more items.
