Street vendors cooking up meals on the spot is commonplace all over the world, and especially popular in Malaysia.
The uncle whipping up 8-10 portions of a stir-fry rice-flour dish occupies a sidelane next to a florist shop near market street in Muar town. During the Chinese New Year period, waiting lines can be over half an hour as he continuously chruns out the 8-10 portions every 5 minutes.
"Only in the last 3-4 years has popularity in this dish as take-away breakfast boomed" he chats while stirring, "When I reluctantly took over from my mother more than 20 years ago, it was quite a slow and easy going business" he continued while juggling refills of condiments and ingredients with his wife from a van parked out of camera view on my right. (RM3 is about USD 0.85)

Hello Vinsen,
I love that type of picture! So much info and it relates direcly to the people of the place.
I wish you had lowered your point of view. I understand you wanted to show the whole table and the content of the wok. Howeve, with your 18mm, you could have gotten down to the man's eyes level, give a better focus on the elements on the table (maybe use the price tag as a good intro to your picture), still show what's going on in the wok and, as a bonus, give a better sense of what's going on in the street in the bg.
I think I'd even try to have him look at the lenses...you still shoot him while he work to make sure you have some good shots, but I wonder what it would give...
