Photographer's Note

A daily life portrait of a Penan without the usual tourist correct setup of feathery headgears and loincloth as seen on most tour brochures, walking stealthily, wielding his spear tipped blowpipe and machete as his sidearm, somewhere deep in the rain forest of Ulu Baram, about 300km from Miri, in the Sarawak hinterland.

On his right waist, attached a bamboo tube containing spare darts and dart's stabilizers. On his back, is his rattan backpack containing his daily needs and tools as the hunter and gatherer of this timber rich and chainsaw threatened rain forest.

The nearest village with airstrip facility is, Long Bangah about 4 days jungle trek away over the mountain ranges. There is only 1 flight for every 10 days from Miri, serviced by MASwing.
