Photographer's Note
The view of Mount Kinabalu and Kampong Lembah Permai or previously Kampong Lobou Lobou from the veranda of the 4th Garden inside the Kundasang War Memorial.
Within the concrete and stone walls of the war memorial are 4 gardens with the first two representing the fallen Australian and British soldiers with the 3rd garden for the locals which had assisted the Allied forces, during the 2nd World War.
The 4th garden from which this photo was taken is on a higher level with a rectangular pond in the middle of a pergolas setting. Only on special occasion, the frames with the names of the fallen soldiers would be displayed on the 2 walls of this garden. More than 2400 Allied prisoners died during captivity in Sandakan POW Camp and the 3 death marches to Ranau, near the end of the war.

Hi Rabani,
Nice view and great composition
you used while framing the photos
with elements within the photo
such as the two columns. I love to
see how the clouds caress the mountain.
The roofs with different colors in the
lower plane add dynamism to the scene.
Nicely done!
Maryori :)

Hi Rabani,
this is a very impressive view of Mt. Kinabalu. I like how you've framed it with those columns. Well done!

Hi Rabani, Impressive framing here like looking back in time. DOF is excellent both the close columns and the mountain tops are in focus. Looks like an interesting mountain to climb one day! TFS. Murray.

Hi Bani. This view of Mt Kinabalu would have been impressive without the framing of the columns, but their inclusion has added an interesting perspective to your photograph and makes us feel that we are looking through a window on this scene. It's always a challenge to come up with something original when shooting a scene that has been photographed thousands of times before, but you have achieved some originality here (I guess you are not the first to do it but probably the first to post such an image to TE). Cheers . . . David
