Photographer's Note
Leaving behind? yeep, we've just entered a new year with lots of hope and opportunities awaiting. Time will decide what will we have in our hardisk at the end of this year. Yet now its still a beginning. Wishing every photographers who come down this page a Blessed and more productive year.... God Bless...
About the photo:
I was on my way driving back to my hometown in Kota Marudu when I pass by the Tanjung Lipat beach and noticed that the sun was setting with some possible beautiful scene. it was 5.45 and traffic was quite fine since its holiday.
I was actually rushing back to do some editing works which I have not finished yet. But noticing that this could be a good shot, I ignored my adrenaline, park the car just about 200 meters away from the bridge near the Bandaraya mosque and took my Benro tripod along.
The shooting was quite dissapointing for the first few minutes. As an amateur in landscape photography, it takes time for me to adjust the settings. However after a few tries. My memories of how I previously shoot such scene came into mind.
I used the Nikon D700 body which was a full frame. I seldom use this for landscape and I know Canon's full frame beat Nikon in terms of resolution, but again my Nikon D700 didn't disappointed me. It worked pretty well with my 24-70mm and a Cokin ND8 Grad filter attached.
Image was sharp. although I did tweaked the sharpness and contrast during Post-Processing, the actual colors and details was still preserved, proving that Nikon really has produced a good tool for landscape...

An amazing sky and great DOF. I like the way the sun is reflecting on the rocks in the foreground.
Happy New Year

Hello Frisco,
The fantastic sunset colors are just speechless in your very well taken photo and under blue lights. Great effect of long exposure on water surface. Well detailed, sharp capture with excellent addition of rocks and city textures too. Congratulations.
I wish you and your family a healthy, prosperous and happy new year.
Best Regards,
Ertugrul

Hello Frisco,
I believe your adjustments were perfect as this image is clear from foreground to the background and all the elemnets that were presented before you show clearly. The color was great that night and well worth the stop to capture the end of a day...
