‘Vang Vieng - High in the sky’
Brenda wanted to know if the flight was shaky. It wasn’t at all. It was a very comfortable flight.
The landing wasn’t bumpy either.
Was this due to the experience or dexterity of the pilot or to the ideal weather conditions? I don’t know.
I do remember that at one point the other balloon went very high in the sky and we (the three passengers of our balloon) asked our pilot to do the same. Then he searched for the proper air flow to get higher … but we failed to do so ... Apparently it’s not easy to fly at any desired height.
It may be useful to know that the balloon burner is quite noisy. However, the air in the balloon doesn't need to be heated constantly during the flight.

Ik denk dat de tekst nog verschijnen nu is nog alles leeg.
De ballon zo hoog moet mooi zijn om al die vergezichten te kunnen waarnemen.
Maar op deze hoogte een foto malen lijkt mij net wat te hoog.
Maar uw ballon was veel lager en u kon prachtige panorama's maken.
Het landschap lijkt me heel bijzonder, iets dat wij niet kennen in ons gecultiveerd Vlaanderen

Hello Paul,
Although the WS photos are interesting you have again made the obviously right choice of main photo. We get an interesting view of the scenery of steep hills on both sides of the flat mainly agricultural area. There is a beautiful warm light with the sun coming from the right direction this time, making the photo very clear. Even with this fine view below you, the red balloon flying so much higher is a superb exclamation mark. I would probably have loved to make that journey, even though I might have been a bit nervous before take-off.

Hi Paul,last pics of this unforgettable trip with the balloon,ans this time too are very very beautiful,i like a lot the main and the 2nd WS. So not easy to go very very high like the other balloon,but i think that this point were enough to see a great show. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

This is a stunning photograph, yes stunning!
The vast depth, with such a variety of scenery is the sort of shot we rarely see. From an aeroplane the view is much flatter and from a tall building, the depth is not as great.
The sunlight and shadows add a 3D effect to the overall impression.
How long were you in the balloon, for it to begin to go dark before you landed?

A stunning photo, with the dramatic landscape lit by the low sun, and the bright red balloon standing out against the vivid blue sky. The portrait format emphasizes how high the balloon is. Great work!

This area looks as spectacular as Cappadocia or the Nile River near Luxor. A good birds eye view from the hot air balloon. The reservoir at right adds interest. Tfs!

I've only been up in a balloon once but what I remember the most is the silent floating feeling. Another good one from the balloon.

Une autre vue superbe sur ce paysage depuis ce vol, la balade a du être impressionnante et magnifique, belle expérience. Bon effet avec cette luminosité et ce "relief" donné par les ombres et puis bon détail avec ce ballon qui est si haut dans le ciel, très belle photo, merci du partage.

Wonderful aerial view from hills and river bellow, to the red other balloon aloft, and towards the mountains on the far horizon.
A great advanture, superbly presented. #2 WS with the dark surrounding is also most impressive picture.

It is a fantastic landscape. And long shadows look good. I guess it was morning, not late afternoon? Yes, I see the height difference between two balloons is remarkable. But I don't think you missed much.

Hello Paul, three lovely shots.
In the main post we see just how high the balloon can go, very impressive. The fact that the balloon was bright red, is just perfect for a photographer. The sunlight highlighting so much of the landscape.
You had some wonderful views of the landscape.

Hello Paul,
For me, it is clearly the best one from your series so far. The landscape is very plastic due to the low angle illumination and one can feel the almost 'endless space'. The red balloon against the blue sky is only the cherry on the cake. This one goes to my favourites beyond doubt!

PS: WS 2 is also a good photo with its dark tones, creating almost like a silhouette effect.

if it is not easy to go up and down, I would be concerned that you may hit one of the hills.
Great scenery, fantastic POV for sure. It makes a huge difference. Pleasant light to make the landscape look very interesting.
The balloon above adds a great touch!

Dag Paul,
Deze prachtige sfeervolle foto 📸 laat zien hoe aantrekkelijk zo’n ballonvaart moet zijn. Het land in het late zonlicht vredig onder je. Niet te hoog en niet te laag. De stilte als de brander even uitstaat en een mooie felrode stip in de lokkende verte.
Het moet een bijzondere ervaring zijn geweest.

Certainly it must be a sensation to travel in a balloon and a joy for these beautiful landscapes that you flew over, the photo is a marvel alternating these plains with the mountains that seem scattered, the sunset time gives a great warmth to the image.
Point of view, sharpness, lightness, color and the chosen composition are excellent.

P.S. The last big snowfall in Madrid, similar to this one and for which we have data thanks to the newspaper library, was on November 27, 1904 and the worst thing is that now we have a cold wave, for tonight -8ºC.
