Photographer's Note
In and out patient facilities in Laos are basic all over the country. In the capital there are a few international clinics which can stabilize seriously ill patients to a certain extend, local hospitals can only offer very basic medical care. In most of the emergency cases an evacuation by ambulance to Udon/Thailand has to be organised. At least most of the common medicines are available from the international pharmacies around the hospitals. There are also snacks and drinks stalls like the one in the photograph above near the entrance of the hospitls

I find the headdress of these ladies good, certainly the lady with blue decorative braid has more attention than the other ladies.
Excellent daily life picture with the young girl in action.

Beats sitting in the waiting room of an NHS hospital! The four ladies are nicely arranged in relation to each other and are wel placed in the frame. I particularly like the expression on the face of the lady looking directly toward the camera, very open and welcoming.

Hello Urs,
Really, as a waiting room at a hospital this looks nicer than most I have seen. Great colours, nice smiles and lots of interesting details to watch. I don't really want to know what it may look like inside. In Vientiane in 1973 I had to renew my cholera protection and went to a hospital to get a shot. The following night my arm got very swollen and hurt, I had a high fever and spent the night hallucinating. Then I got better and continued my journey :-). Whatever happened, I have survived 40 more years after that.

Very colorful, busy but pleasant photo. I was reading your into, I noticed your first SLR was a Yashica. My first SLR was a Yashica FX-3! Every now and then I post photos taken with that camera, still! TFS.

This is a much better doctor's waiting room than the ones we have in the U.S. At least one won't get hungry while waiting. And good for free enterprise. Great capture with good lighting and wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.
