Photographer's Note
In Laos pork butcher sit on top of their sales desk, like the one in this picture taken in Vientiane's Khou Din market. Moreover almost all the butchers are women. Some even have a table fan to keep them cool and to chase away the omnipresent flies. There are not plenty of buyers because pork, chicken and seafood are expensive. Only the relatively thin middle class can afford to buy it. While waiting for customers this female butcher drinks some cold tea.

A fine well presented daily life composition. The lighting helps her and her produce stand out from the background. She seems a little upset at being photographed, but never mind.

Hi Urs - a funny and eye catching shot here! I hope the perspective lies and her feet are not buried in the pork! I wonder about her expression - is she happy to be in your shot, or upset? She doesn't reveal much. Good use of flash here to illuminate this clever scene.

She looks suprise with a mission! The open stall looks like a work of art there, a fine environmental portrait, the mixed light, colours and shades and the stuff standout so strikingly. But it's hot and humid not a refrigerator in sight! Guess the health and safety would have a field day with her! anyway it's a harmonious daily shot which gives so much for the viewer to think about and it's so nice;y balanced composition. You're still finding gems like this from your trip. Congrats

Very interesting daily life shot. You used the fill in flash well. Interesting to see butchers are women. There's a lot of meat in front of her. Interesting as well that she drinks the cold tea from a container with a lid. Well done series from Loatian market place
