Photographer's Note
The historical Har Pha Kaew Wat used to be the religious heart of Laos, but nowadays the Buddhist temple complex has been turned into a national monument. It is one of the most grand temples in Vientiane that formerly housed an Emerald Buddha. The building has been destroyed 3 times since it was first erected in 1556. There were too many wars between die Siamese (Thais) and Laotians. Vientiane, which in those days was not the capital of Laos, was often invaded by the Siamese. The last restoration was made during the French Colonial Period.

Hello Urs
This is a pleasant picture about the historical Vat in Vientianne. The shadow has created some intriguing colors on the statues along which the eys follows in the frame.

Hi Urs,
pretty place. I like very much the statues of Budha and the many details on the wall. Why this building was detroyed so many times? Nice to know they have erected it again. 1556, it have almost the age of Brazil as country, Amazing!

Hi, Urs,
I love this culture, excellent presentation of the Wat. I had read the history of Laos before my visit there.
I wonder by location on the TE. They said Vientian placed on the North of Laos. ;)
Best wishes,
Serghei

Hello Urs
You share with us a nice picture of this historical Wat in the Loatian capital. The diagonal enhances the depth and the details are well rendered. Long shadows which come from the left add another dimension to this picture. Good work!
Best Regards
Angshu
