Photographer's Note

Daily life continues as it has done for centuries. Every morning the monks dressed in their stunning safron robes parade down the main street collecting food offered by the local villagers. This is Maung noi - a small town yet to be overwhelmed by tourism. There is just the one street lined with rustic huts made from local materials. No road to get there just a ride for an hour upstream in a long boat. What sets this picture off for me is the beautiful colour. The aged face of the head monk who leads due to his seniority, followed up by the youngest monk at the end.
