Photographer's Note
……is the season of Cherry Blossoms. We can see this scene with Cherry blossoms a few weeks later.
This picture was taken in Nara-Machi, the old quarters of Nara City. This street is in a quiet area near the Nara Hotel and the Daijo-in Garden. (I'll post some pictures of the old hotel and the medieval garden at some time.)
When I was a child, this street was more tranquil and more beautiful. The street itself was narrower. A traffic lane in right side of cherry blossoms in this picture was a small canal. But unfortunately the canal was changed to be a traffic lane.
I said "unfortunately", but maybe there was no another way to improve the transportation condition of Nara-Machi. All streets are narrow and densely-packed with old wooden buildings. It's true that fire engines can arrive at fire sites rapidly, thanks to this widened street.
After all, It's pity for me, though. Now we can't see the sight with countless petals floating on the water of canal.

Hello keitaro
I didn't know that there was a small canal in this place.I don't remember a state of old Nara-Machi.But I was feel that it is a dusky, small place.
The present impression is different from it greatly.
The place that the impression has brightly, and is stylish.
As you say, there are a good part and a bad part for the change.
Sadness and the uneasiness that the thing which I know is lost.
The change was evidence for activity.
However, I wanted to look at a small canal, too.
