Photographer's Note

Taken a few years ago in Kyoto, Japan
This is the part of the small residential area leading to the Kiyomizu Temple.
The temple itself is fotog heaven but the streets are shooters' gold too
This is a residential sidelane that flanks the main business street lined with all sorts of touristy shops

The original image was shot on standard quality, basically not that great when it comes to noise and artifacts and even clarity. There was also uneven exposure due to the having both sunbathed and shadowed areas in the same shot.

More USM would make it unnatural and creates fringing, so I chose to filter it for noise instead.
Some dodge and burn were done to relieve over-exposure, details in the shadowed areas were brought up thru gamma and slight constrast adjustment

While the final image is not great on clarity, i like the mood that is a result of the soft image and the bluish tones
