Photographer's Note
Nearly everything that makes Tokyo interesting rubs elbows in Shinjuku; high-end department stores, giant video-screens, stand-up noodle bars, tucked away shrines, highest concentration of skyscrapers and... lots of neons.
That’s why I’ve decided to use them as a background for this taxi sign that seems to fit just right among other lights.
P.S.: I’ve made a workshop since the colours seem dull once posted on this site... Still learning how to manage my images for the web...

Great shot, Andre! A riot of color and shapes. Congratulations on seeing the possibilities inherent in this image. It must've been quite a difficult shot, but you've clearly succeeded here.

Nice, all these out of focus colors surrounding the sign. The antenna and sign are very sharp. The reflection fills the bottom of the frame. TFS, Gilbert

Tiens tu fais aussi dans le bokeh made in Japan aujourd'hui...
Superbe et lumineux a mon gout, ou comment transformer un signe "Taxi" an arbre de Noel, ca en devient feerique avec toutes ces touches lumineuses d'arriere plan, j'aime beaucoup !

Great idea and very well executed. The colours really do look fantastic. I'm always envious of people who can hold the camera still at such exposures.

Very cool photo...so crisp and clear...and it's almost like a Christmas decoration on top of the vehicle. Very interesting photo...also like the little neon signs reflection on the car hood, too!

It looks like the old cover of the Lonely Planet guide to Tokyo. Very professional looking photo.
Excellent definition, and the way the background lights have been blurred into large circles is beautiful.
Great range of colour.
Very good composition, and well framed. Could be a little tiny bit straighter, though, just a little rotation to the right.

Hello Andre, Love the play between the in-focus taxi signage and the surrounding neon lights - such a great way to emphasize the never sleeping town that is Shinjuku.

Very nice one, Andre. The pyramid-shaped taxi sign and its reflection on the car's roof make a fine compositional anchor, and the array of colorful lights, shown in perfect shallow DOF, make a most pleasing surrounding. Beautiful work. I thought that even on the original the colors weren't bad but indeed they pop even more in the WS version. Good job.

Bonjour André,
Une image très "Taxi Driver", à la différence qu'on est ici à Tokyo pas à New York. Exit donc l'humidité et l'atmosphère poisseuse. Place aux couleurs vives et à l'électricité.
Photo très originale dans sa composition. La netteté est assez stupéfiante (notamment les reflets sur la carrosserie).

c'est fantastique ces lumieres, on se croirait sur timesquare un soir de noel, c'est tres artisitque comme image et elle est drolement nette pour du 1/15...ah je comprends mieux, je n'avais pas vu le IS sur ton caillou ;o)...en tous cas elle est bien plaisante a regarder.

Je viens de voir ton taxi de NYC dont le commentaire nous renvoyait sur cette image. Bravo, superbe également. C'est une très bonne idée que de photographier les taxis et les lumières de la ville de la sorte. Très original.

I imagine Tokyo as a bokeh kingdom, but I cannot find the matching photos. Yours is a matching one, great one. Maybe I would only crop the car roof. But still, I like it very much.

Amazing image which shows your creativity and an eye for interesting detail. Indeed, you captured the atmosphere of Shinjuku very well. I just love the bokeh in the background.
I have a similar problem with colours on TE, especially red.
