Photographer's Note
Oh yes... Another example of how those Japanese push the cutting edge of fashion... Sometimes push it right off a cliff. In this case the cutting edge might have decided to cut its own wrists and be done with it.....
I just couldnt help it. I was out at Daiba where the Fuji TV building is taking pictures when I had first bought my D60. It was cold and the sun had gone down so I went to a shopping area around there forgot waht mall it was Venus Isle maybe. Anyways... Im sitting in the food court waiting for my girlfirned to come to the table with her food and this girl with her boyfriend are getting their daily does of sugar at Cinnabun. Those boots... I mean. I just couldnt help it I felt obligated to snap off a few shots. Those boots were jsut screaming at me to photograph her. Her boyfriend off camera seemed to have had very similar fashin tastes as well. Im sure they will have children one day that will develop a unique sense of fashin as well and will be named moon unit and dwezil...

Ahaha! I'm sure she spent a lot of time crafting that look - the purple triangles, the purse, and the hilarious boots which I'm sure she takes very seriously.
Compelling subject aside, the exposure, focus and lighting contribute to the image. Very nice.

Great capture showing so many details of daily life in this country. Sitting down to shoot has given this photo a good angle. This is what photography should be, showing us every day actions. Great job, and well done.

Boots like that were very popular here in the 70´s, and I also remember that many dogs had a problem with that. They just didn´t know if it were boots or dogs so the barked and growled. Not much to say about tech, its all well done.

I love it! So typical of the bizarre (to my eye) fashions here. Great note too...

Great candid travel shot. Doesn't even need a caption. Weird clothing + couture accessory + american retail brands (cinnabon) = Japanese youth culture. I also like the interesting visible details, like the labels on the two rows in the display case: one in english and one in japanese.

Good off-center composition, oh the hell with it, I love it. Those wacky Japanese youths strikes again.

Nice shot! I saw a lot of this 'cutting edge fashion', sometime I can't lie to you: I liked... :) But sometimes... Well... One day I saw one girl with a lot of pink fluffy details in her clothes, but her boyfriend saw me taking my camera and I guess he didn't like too much my 'tourist interest' on her and took her out of my focus... :D :D
