Photographer's Note
This is Kaminarimon Gate in Asakusa, one of the most classical sightseeing in Tokyo. No self-respected tourist would miss this on their first trip to Tokyo!
The gate leads to Sensoji temple, via a small alley bordered by traditional japanese shops. This is taken during "Oshogatsu", or japanese new year vacations. A lot of people go to temple for the occasion, and Sensoji is one of the most crowded one.
See this other shot for a view of the crowd in the alley..

shadows bumped a bit. Too much maybe, it brought grain, but I don't dislike it after all..

Nice night shot. There is always someone walking in the middle of shots even though most Japanese try to avoid getting in the way.
I like the enhanced shadows. Gives a good feel to it.
I wonder if you could have held the camera at a higher angle and avoided the road and the man and the taxi, how would the picture had looked?
The picture captures the mood of the time well.
