Photographer's Note
During my years away from Trekearth I spent some years as a ship engineer, and that had me travelling to a larger part of the world than usual.
On my so far longest trip away from home I spent close to 9 weeks around southern Japan.
one of the jobs I attended brought me to Shimonoseki on the way western tip of Honshu.
When about to leave for a job even further south in Kyushu I wanted to take a few photos of the two trains (500 and 700 series shinkansen) that were currently stopped at the station. Increadibly enough the first photo I shot was at the exact moment this southbound 700 series Nozomi came rushing through the station at full speed. Apparently 280km/h according to my local colleague.
According to him, it was also regarded as lucky to capture more that 2 trains while at the station. He also mentioned the extremely rare occurrence of a 4 train photo... but then again that was next to impossible.
Enjoy!

Hello there Odd
Interesting how the three trains are similar, yet not the same. Three different snouts, three different designs. But I imagine they're all very efficient.
I also like the personal touch in the note. Tx & cheers!
Enjoy your weekend.

Hello Odd Jarle,
A great capture of three of those famous Japanese bullet trains. The warm sidelight was excellent and added a nice play of light and shadow and a good colour contrast with the bluish tones of the trains.

Hello Odd Jarle,
I once showed a photo of shinkansen. But here we find a nozomi together with the shinkansen. That one is even faster.
Wonderful how streamlined these trains are.
It's a very beautiful picture of the three trains.
Wonderful pieces of technology.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Odd,
Fantastic moment captured when the middle bullet-train passed in full speed through the station, where two more trains waiting for their turn to move.
Picture is superbly under the golden light, clear and distinct.
Bravo for that intriguing shot, and a nice weekend,
Ike

HI
The diagonal lines of the trains reinforces ther idea of dynamism, the blurred one in the center is taken at the right place and gives some motion feeling.
Cheers

Hi Odd Jarle,
Wonderful capture of three different high speed trains. Good light and well working wide angle. And your timing is perfect. I would guess there is some speed restriction at the station area, but I believe it moved fast anyway.

Hello Odd Jarle,
I miss these bullet trains. They had them in China & South Korea too. They sound like rockets as they zoom past. Good sharpness and nice motion blur of the central train. The warm sunlight on the rust red rails has given a good warm cold color contrast with the cooler blue tints of the 'shinkansen' & sky. Tfs!

Hi Odd Jarle
so did a lot of luck come your way after taking this photo? haha I wonder what it must be like to go on such a fast train. I also wonder what it must be like to be in Japan. fun shot, and even at that super high speed its clear enough to make it out. cheers

Hello Odd,
You were quite fortunate to get this speeding train just in line with the other two stationary ones. The fronts of these trains look like airplanes. The light is lovely, too. 👍🏻👍🏻
From your note i take it that you have been away from TE for a while. Welcome back! You may find that the site is not as well-kept as it was in its heyday, but the the friendships one develops are just as precious.
Regards,
MT

Hi Odd.
Great is a composition with the three bullet trains ready to go, I like its front so weepy and each one is different, great perspective of the platform that is lost in the distance.
An image to enjoy, with its beautiful color, great luminosity and perfect sharpness.
Happy start of the week.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hi Odd,
The piers are framing well the trains. The point of view is showing the details od the Bullet trains. The light is giving good rendering of the colors. Have a nice day.
