Photographer's Note
‘Aoshima-jinja’
Here my third and last picture (together with 2 more in the WS) of the island of Aoshima located at the east coast of Kyūshū in the south of Japan.
This time no more views of the ‘devil’s washboard’ that surrounds the island. I mentioned before that under the palms you find a Shinto shrine, the Aoshima-jinja.
That shrine is quite close to the beach but from the main shrine you can follow a narrow path under the trees to go to another shrine, a very small one.
The faithful who visit the Aoshima-jinja, also all go to that other small shrine in the tropical forest.
I liked its red colour in the dense green forest.
I haven’t posted all the pictures of Japan that I wanted to show here … but meanwhile I’ve made another journey and I am a little impatient to start that new series …

Hallo Paul,

Hello Paul,
Welcome back from wherever you have been. It is a bit of a surprise to see another Japanese photo, as I had been expecting something from....?....Latin America....?
Anyway, Japan is good for many photos. I also like this red structure in the green environment and the humble faith expressed by the worshippers. You found a good photo opportunity here and also paid these people your respect by not getting too close to them at this moment.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Paul,
it seems that you have travelled and seen a lot during your visit in amazing Japan! This interesting country impressed on me and it is absolutely neccessary for me to return again. The red shrine in the center of this picture seems to be located in peaceful surroundings and I can almost feel the silence and the religious atmosphere from the worshippers, a really nice moment! A bit tricky light conditions here but you did a good job. Tripod?
Best regards/
Boa
ps, I am curious about where you have been and looking forward the photos:)

Dag paul,
Mooi gedaan, bedankt.
Groeten uit een vrij warm Oost-Vlaanderen,
john

Hi, Paul,
Another interesting presentation of a Shinto shrine, it brings me to Tokyo again. As you know I have never been on Kyushu.
I hope to come back to my Japanese folder after few posts of the vintage cars photos.
Best wishes,
Serghei

Hello Paul.
Three fantastic pictures, this place that conveys a sense of peace and tranquility, beautiful contrasting red temple, with smooth surfaces of the trunk of these trees, which also have such curved branches, while its leaves give a beautiful green .
Very effective colorful, highlighting the details of the image.
Good management of both the brightness and sharpness.
Very well done. I like.
Enjoy the weekend.
Best wishes for you.
Luis.

Good morning Paul,
Good shadow detail and the small area of harsh sunlight has been well managed. The bent tree, perhaps a victim of an old typhoon years ago, adds interest. The bright orange shrine makes a fine focal point. Tfs.

Hi Paul,
You wrote here that you would like to share more photos from Japan but you interrupted this series in favour of other reportage. May be you want to return to these pics?
I noticed most of trekkers show local areas these days. Not much travel. Well not a surprise I suppose.
Most of active members are from Europe. Thank God there are some from Brazil or Australia but Europeans dominate the TE.
Lovely composition with the red colored temple. Well framed with the trees.
Very well done,
M
