Photographer's Note

The kawazu seven falls are located in the Izu peninsula, and are close to each other on the same river. A well maintained walkway allow easy access to them.
refreshing atmosphere and a great retreat to escape town!
Once you've done taking photos, why don't you stop for a while in one of the huge open-baths, relaxing in hot natural water while contemplating the cascade? or you could have a snack in one of the traditionnal shops around. We had lunch in a very old house, which a young couple had bought a few years ago and tried to restore while living there with their baby (pretty rough conditions). They were apparently struggling for money, and I suppose selling lunch sets was a way for them to make some money to keep surviving...

Izu peninsula is quite interesting place to go if you visit Japan and have already made the classic tourist places. it's amazing how contrasty is the environment, from the very trendy beach of shirahama to deep, dense forests around these falls.
