Photographer's Note
The rich really do own the world. According to the United Nations development research institute, the richest 2 percent of the world’s adults own more than half the world’s wealth and the bottom 50 percent own barely 1 percent of global wealth. Here in Indonesia, around half of the population of 230 million live on around US$2-3 per day. No wonder they don’t live in nice houses. Like these on the Ciliwung River in Bukit Duri, East Jakarta.
