Photographer's Note
The Church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Old Goa (or Goa Velha in Portuguese). The old capital of the Portuguese colony of had a population larger than that of London and Paris at one point in the sixteenth century but a few hundreds years later the population had almost completely shifted to Panaji (Goa's present capital) further down the Mandovi Estuary.
