Photographer's Note
13 th June,2007. The monsoon rain hits Kolkata. She appeared so violently. More than 100 mm rain. As per report 8 km of rain cloud hanging over Kolkata just before the rain. It broke down upon the city and completely disrupts the life. Almost 20 people died. When we reached to College street it was more than knee deep water and there were some entrance examination was going on, it was full of chaos there. The depth of water increased as we were approaching from Keshab Sen Street towards Amherst Road. I found the man interesing to safeguard his footware. I decided and clicked instantly. This shot is the third one of the water clogged Kolkata.
Hope you like it

Hello friend Partha, an interesting photo-reportage of the consequences of The monsoon in Kolkata, is painful the effects that almost every year provoke this tropical climatology, a simple but very eloquent and explanatory photo.
A greeting and that it has a good day.

Never saw that with my own eyes. Just an idea of it from Thailand. I wonder that the man walks barfoot without knowing what comes under his feet with the next step. An interesting documentation shot and it looks even beautiful.

Dear Partha,
Appropriate picture matching your theme.
You have already cropped a lot as evident from the file size.
The waves of water are very attractive and my eyes stuck to it and so I decided a WS. Please check. Hope you like it.
Best wishes.

Hi Partha,
The situation is probably worse these days. This one almost good enough to be published in a newspaper. Nice capture of the bare essentials.
Best Wishes

When I first saw this I thought it must be a river or lake somewhere, but I was amazed to find out that it was a city street! Sorry to hear about the tradgedy of the flooding, but this is a great shot to document it. Cutting the person's head is probably a good idea as it also cuts out the clutter of the buildings, and it also make this more universal. Well done!

Hi Partha,
Nice capture.Almost a documentary kind of shot.I wonder what you were doing there with the camera???But I just think, the tight cropping at the top perhaps not doing the right justice here, instead I would have loved to see the full body of the man......just my opinion though.
Greetings,
Dhurjati
