Photographer's Note

My previous post shows how the Hooghly River is being polluted years after years with the immersion of thousands of Idols which contains clay, pluster of paris, synthetic colours, plastics, flowers, ingredients of worshipping the idol etc.
This picture tries to show a little bit of solution of this problem. In my next post I will try to show how the main problem is being atlest "tried" to be solved. In this pic, what you are seeing is the bamboo and straw structures are taken from the river and piled up on a boat. This really is not a solution though and this happens every year because these structures will be used in the next year for making idols again. But what I try to show is that those structures really does not pollute the river. But what about the tons of synthetic colours, flowers, plaster of paris and clay? well, that is what I will try to show you in my next post. Though I don't think that also stops pollution too much.
