Photographer's Note
The temperature that I encountered in Lava, West Bengal was 3 deg Celsius which is absolutely very cold for me. These people are probably accustomed to much lower temperatures but they were obviously enjoying their chat around the fire.
I have added a view of the village as WORKSHOP.

Hello Satya,
I am of course accustomed to temperatures far below 3°C, but in very different conditions. I would also have felt very cold here. They really needed the heat from the fire, which created an excellent photo opportunity. The colours, the faces and their interaction, and the smoke rising between them make the little group eye-catching and tell us something about their lives. I almost shudder when I see the fog in the background and in the WS, but it describes the climate perfectly and is very nicely exposed.
Kind regards,
Gert

was 3 degrees Celsius too cold for other people

Hello Satya,
A good capture of those people from the village, gathered around the fire. The picture really looks cold, but the people don't seem to mind. I like how the left hand side of the photo is largely covered by smoke.

Hello Satya, a documentary picture; the characters are talking and seem oblivious to you.
If it were as cold as you say, I would not be stood outside talking!
A very interesting picture.
A good extra in the workshop too.
Regards Jean.

Hi Satya,
Fine street photography of people minding each other in stead of the camera. Good composition and just enough emvironmental information to place the group.
Thanks en regards, Gerrit

Hi Satya
Growing up in Eastern Canada, i'm very used to cold cold temperatures, so 3 Degrees is easy for me hahaha. but I understand what you're talking about. did you notice you captured the man's reflection in the mirror on the exterior wall? thats a good one :) a fine daily life moment, they don't seem to mind at all that you're right there in front. cheers

Hello Satya,
I guess that March is even not the coldest month in Lava.
I was also surprised to find a temperature just below zero at night in sunny Munnar, Kerala, last January. At daytime it was warm enough there.
The people in your photo wear therefore appropriate clothing. Hopefully they can warm up a bit at the fire.
The panoramic view in the WS clarifies the high location of the village.
Best regards, Paul
