Photographer's Note
This father and his daughter made a special trip to Trichy to partake in this morning puja. Two Brahmins (in hokje 39) are preparing for the ceremony, a puja such as this would costs quite a few rupees but then it was for his expectant wife. I understood that she had lost two babies early in pregnancy and now hopefully this third we enter the world without problem. I love how the daughter in her nice dress and balaclava looks on.

Well Elisabeth, you have been practically invisible in the other photos, but here you managed to get that look by the distracted father to be.The Brahmins look morose, but then being close to the Divine is no laughing matter. Intriguing details for the uninitiated. Regards. Klaudio.

Excellent light on the man on the right, but it's the eyes of the man on the left that really make the shot come alive. In between these two: childhood and old age. That's a really fine ensemble, and a great picture. Thanks for sharing, Elaine. Cheers.

Not every day you come across this kind of thing!!
An excellent view of an interesting ritual and the proceedings, reflecting an intriguing intimate insight to Hindu religion that you managed to capture it tastefully. This is respectful and not intrusive, I find the father's gaze is particularly moving. The explanations you give we all your shots thats what helps them to be very good without it we would be lost. A wonderful doc image, neat and colourful with balanced brightness level. Excellent capture, Congrats
