Photographer's Note
Chandrashila is summit of the Tungnath . It literally means "Moon Rock". It is located at a height of about 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) above sea level. This peak provides a spectacular view of Himalayas,especially Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba peaks. There are various legends associated with this place. According to one of the popular legend, this is the place where Lord Rama meditated after defeating the demon-king Ravana.Another legend says that moon-god Chandra spent time here in penance.The Beauty of Chandrashila is Incredible.It is an impressive vantage point that offers 360 degrees panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas.This is a beautiful trek, with difficulty level rated as easy to moderate.

The view of the mountains is superb but the well placed fellow human makes this a much more interesting photo, even though the colours and sharpness are perfect. People really mean a lot.

hello Dwaipayan, wonderfull light and interesting composition, the snowy peaks in the bg fill the frame perfectly completed by the man in the fg, I have been there in march but the landscape was totally different due to heavy snowfall

I can well imagine how cold it must be at such a high altitude. Good warm cold color contrasts between the man in the yellow shawl at left and the blue sky at right as well as the hazy, deep shadowed blue mountains. Impeccable sharpness and a magnificent panorama. Tfs.

the natural scenery is vast, awesome and mysterious, no wonder that this place is associated with fascinating, dramatic legends. I like the strong presence of the gentleman in this composition. The warm-cold colour contrast is striking. I wonder what he could be thinking in over this breath-taking view. You even captured the smoke of his cigarette against the sky, a fine detail.
