Photographer's Note
Ootacamund or Udhagamandalam sometimes abbreviated to Udhagai or Ooty is a town, a municipality and the district capital of the Nilgiris district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Ootacamund is a popular hill station located in the Nilgiri Hills. Originally occupied by the Todas, the area came under the rule of the East India Company at the end of the 18th century. Today the town's economy is based on tourism and agriculture, with manufacturing of medicines and photographic film also present. The town is connected to the rest of India by road and rail, and its historic sites and natural beauty attract tourists.
Ooty lake is located in Ooty in the Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu, India. It covers an area of 65 acres.The Boat house situated by the lake, which offers boating facilities to tourists, is a major tourist attraction in Ooty.Ooty lake is an artificial lake constructed by John Sullivan, in 1824. The water flowing down mountain streams in the Ooty valley was dammed to form the lake. The lake became empty on three occasions when it breached its bund. The lake was originally intended to be used for fishing with ferries being used to travel across the lake. It gradually shrunk from its original size giving place to the current bus stand race course, and the lake park. The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation on behalf of the Tourism Department took the possession of the lake in 1973, for providing boating facilities as a tourist attraction.

Hello Farhat,
Interesting picture. This site seems to be very beautiful. The presence of trees and plants in the forefront give some deepness to your picture. The wharves seems to be a bit off focus. You would have win some interest if you would had wait to have someone on the path.

Hi Farhat,
This looks like a very nice and relaxing place. You have captured it quite well from higher angleviewpoint. The composition and color balance is good. Only one major item is disturbing overal composition, the metlic pipe (?) in the front. It take too much attention of viever'e eye. You should take the photo from anonther angle or clone the pipe (remove with software). Otherwise nice photo.

Hello Farhat,
I have never been to OOty. I hear it is a very beautiful hill station. Here, you have captured this lake and the surroundings very nicely. I like the contrast in colors between the foreground and the background. Very charming place for a nice vacation.

The distance between the boats and the opposite shore is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the scenery and of the boats. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Inspite of the mist/fog over water, the place looks charming on picture.

You're capturing well this place by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the calm lake and the surrounding lush green. Here looks like a comfortable resort place. And, the shadow projected to the grass draws out a good effect.

never visit Udhagamandalam but I know Kodaikanal
it is a green altitude resort in the western ghats
paddle boat excursions are offered on the lake
well maintained garden
