Photographer's Note

I really have no idea of what to share first. This was one of my first destinations. Rangdum, a village of about 50 remote in the zanskar valley at 13000ft. This village is accessible only 4 months in the year. The roads open up after the army in alliance with BRO(Border Roads Organization) clear up thousand of kilometres of road across the Himalayas.

There are a lot of rogue passes and glaciers en route to Zanskar which make it difficult to open it for tourists or even locals. To get to this place took some heavy driving through freshly cut glaciers and ice defrosting along and above the roads..

This frame however was the morning after i reached the village, the reception was pretty bad, the temp dipped way below zero and started snowing heavily after which i checked into a villagers house.

Limited with supplies the owner of the house was kind enough to provide a room with the basics. One of the worst nights i spent was at this village. talk about it later..

The distant houses made of clay, straw and stone, the ground floor of about 7feet is where the livestock, cattle reside and the family stays above which is where i stayed !!

when i had reached, took a quick village trail, the reason for including the sky, well the peaks were that high and cloaked with the snow..

nice sunday..
