Photographer's Note

A recent view of partially dried Prashar Lake situated at a height of 2,730 metres above mean sea level in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh in India. Located at a distance of forty kilometres from Mandi the lake is considered sacrosanct because it is believed that sage Prashar meditated here. It is also famous for its floating island. In the vicinity of the lake there is a three-storied pagoda style temple dedicated to sage Prashar. According to the temple priest and devotees the radius of the lake is reduced more than four feet.
