Photographer's Note
The Thar Desert also known as the Great Indian Desert, is a large, arid region in the northwestern part of the Indian subcontinent. With an area of more than 200,000 km2. it is world's 7th largest desert and also Asia's 3rd largest desert. The Thar desert along with the Sahara desert of Africa, Arabian peninsula desert, and Cholistan desert in Pakistan are part of the same desert formation. It lies mostly in the Indian state of Rajasthan, and extends into the southern portion of Haryana and Punjab states and into northern Gujarat state. In Pakistan, the desert covers eastern Sindh province and the southeastern portion of Pakistan's Punjab province. The Cholistan Desert adjoins the Thar desert spreading into Pakistani Punjab province.
The Thar desert is the most densely populated desert in the world, with a population density of 83 persons per km2. vs 7 in other deserts.

Warming sunset colours.
The tree seems to be a little bit underexposed. A good candidate to a HDR exposure .. thought...

hi paul
i find the shape and detail of the foreground tree to be fascinating. i could look at it all day, if it weren't for the great colours of the sunset behind it! i like the simple composition and the feeling it portrays. great job.

Hello Paul,
I do like sunsets a lot and usually I prefer them to sunrises because it is easier for me to stay up than to get up early in the morning. ;-) You have found a nice tree to create this fine composition. Beautiful colours.
Best wishes,
Helmut

Dear Paul,
I like the composition very much. This shows that a landscale as mundane as a desert can be made visually appealing by creative composition.I agree with Rui that the tree is slightly underexposed but I guess a partial silhoutte effect is adding to the appeal.I also think the colours could have been made to look little more contrasting. Since i do not have a photo editor, regret not able to upload a WS for you.
Cheers,
Satyakki

Hi Paul,
A beautiful photograph - which is quite universal in its outlook. Having simplified the elements, you have produced a view that could be Asian, African, American (North or South), Australian - and I think your photo is stronger for that universality.
There is a very nice composition, with the tree in the foreground wonderfully framed.
Regards and thanks, Iain

Hello Paul,
Colors are globally warm and nicely saturated; the presence of the tree in the foreground eally enhances the quality of the image.
Well done,

Bonjour Paul
J'aime bien cet arbre qui a pris une posture agitée et bien vu ce petit soleil pour un clin d'œil à sa majesté arbre.

dear Paul,
wow,
a splendid picture of the beautiful sunset scene,
fore unique silhouette figure of the tree is so vivid to make the back wide view more settled and charming,
delicate gradational colors from blue to orange are beautiful and very wide and wild horizontal view is attractive,
thank you for your wonderful shot,
Akihisa

Hello Paul,
A beautiful lone tree scene, making a strong impact over the vast plains!
The setting sun leaves a feeling of departure, and the colours creates a fine end of day feeling...
Elegant simplicity and a good mood!

Bonjour Paul,
J'aime les couleurs du ciel mais ce qui me plaît surtout c'est cet arbre tout ébouriffé qui semble vouloir prendre la vedette.

Hello Paul,
The loneliness of a tree, almost always creates a good picture. This, with its silhouetted against the sunset, is precious.
A wonderful atmosphere that conveys much serenity.
Best wishes,
Charo
