Mukurthi National Park is a protected area abt 40kms from the hill station, Ooty.. you need to get permit to get into this forest.. but if you manage to do it in the winter months of Oct, Nov, you r in for a tret to the eyes :)
The peak resembles a human nose, hence the name Mukurthi..
What's to be noted is during winters the temperature in the nights fall below zero, the only place in South India where it happens so..
