Photographer's Note
Hi,
Today I am uploading a very special picture. I have always been fascinated by Eagles and Kites. They look so majestic, don't they? Unfortunately they are not a common sight near my house. I know two persons staying near by rearing Pariah Kites. Since they don't let them loose(they cut the tip of the birds' wings so that they won't be able to fly far). I am not sure whether this is the same bird , but i was surprised and happy to see it perching on a tree in the next compound. I took some shots before the crows drew it away.
Some general information on the bird is as follows.
Common Pariah Kite, Milvus migrans is a large brown hawk, distinguished from all similar birds by its forked tail. It is usually found in the neighborhood of human habitations. Remarkably adroit on the wing, it is an expert in avoiding the tangles of overhead electric and telephone wires. It feeds on offal and garbage, earthworms, winged termites, lizards, mice and almost anything else that can be procured.
Some information on the photo:
Camera: Nikon D200

Iso: 100

Hi, Smitha,
this is wonderful!! I love bird photos and this one is a beauty. I like the diagonal line of the branch he's perched on and your color and detail are just awesome. Great bokeh, too. Well done!! Kind regards,

Hi Smitha,
Having reached so far, next time aim to capture eagle's different moods also. You are on your way to be a great lensman (or lenswoman !).
