Photographer's Note

A couple of Lambadi women making some shopping at an outdoor market in Bijapur (Karnataka). Lambadis are one of the most popular and colorful tribe in India. They are also called Banjaras. It seems that their origin is from Rajasthan from where they migrated to southern parts of India. As can bee seen in this two women at the picture their clothes are decorated with pieces of mirror and many other things, they wear lots of jewellery and they couldnot pass unnoticed. They are also called "The Gypsies of India".
