Photographer's Note
It is one of the important monasteries of Ladakh, India and was constructed in the 11 th century. It belongs to the Gelugpa Sect. Situated about 50 Kms west of Leh town, it is one of the most picturesque and characterised by a huge golden Buddha statue sitting atop one of the monastery buildings. One must visit on the way to Lamayuru region.
