Photographer's Note
This picture too, was taken 3 days before Durga Puja started. Shall take one of what this beautiful Deity finally looked like and post later.
As you can see, the artisans were still working on the statues-actually, they were giving the final finishing touch and then all that was left to complete was the wall around the statue.
You can also see the another picture from the same day here

The bamboo poles her egive the appropriate impression of a work in preparation, but I'm not sure what it does for the compo, seems a bit confused to me, but maybe it's worth it like this for the reportage.

Hey Smrithi, I was just looking at your picture, then I saw your comment on my B&W, telepathy, I guess ;-)
Unlike Richard, I like the bamboo poles very much, it gives an idea of all the things that have to be done before things are ready. The only thing I think is a bit a shame, is that the left hand is now totally hidden, and as I'm font of hands, I miss that.
I like the framing with the bamboo poles on the top as well.

Beautiful catch of the statue, Smrithi, I love how she is looking into your camera :-) Regarding the bamboo poles, I am on Rinie's side - they add a nice graphical touch and a "work in progress" feeling, the only pity is they are obscuring some of the precious golden details. Well captured.

Hi Smrithi,
a good TE photo and not a studio-like one. You take the situation like it is, still the work is going on. So the bamboo is acceptable even without the note you can see it's indicating the work going on. That's why this subject is outstanding discribing the circumstances and as they work in dark spaces the colors are reduced .

The statue looks similar to some I have seen in Nepal. Well captured, Smrithi. Good graphic qualities in the composition also.

You captured this statue very excellent - the soft golden colour creates a nice moody atmosphere - and gives the artwork extra life - thanks Smrithi - fine work indeed.
