Photographer's Note
Presenting an excerpt from A Tryst with Kanchenjunga
There it stood. People must have seen sunrises and sunsets on Kanchenjunga but our first glimpse of Kanchenjunga was in dim moonlight. Soon there was enough light and the five treasures of snow were very clearly visible. Other peaks in the vicinity like Kabru(Three sisters) to its left and Pandim to its right completed "The Great Himalayan Panorama". Kanchenjunga slowly changed its colour from Greyish White at dawn to Reddish Pink and there was a beautiful sunrise. Its colour then changed to Golden Yellow finally settling for Snow White as the sunlight reached its zenith. The unhindered 180 degrees view of the Himalayas was too awesome to be described.
Sandakphu is located on Singhalila ridge on eastern India-Nepal border and is the Amphitheatre for Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu, 4 of the 5 highest peaks of the world(all except K2).It was from Sandakphu and its vicinity that Everest was first sighted in an era when Kanchenjunga was thought to be the highest mountain in the world.
See Sandakphu for more details.

Fantastic shot !
Beautiful colors... and the interface between the mountains and the forest make a wonderful contrast.
Congratulations.

Bonsoir Amol,
Tu as un formidable secret pour obtenir de telles couleurs, mais si il n'y avait que cela, le cadrage, le paysage, la mise au point, la mumière, tout est extra.
Mes compliments.
Daniel.

This is a nice photo. Normally I would think there is too much plain sky, but it seems to work well in this one, emphasizing the vast scale.
Perspective is very strange in the mountains, and it is weird to think that those peaks are probably 5 or 6 kilometers vertically up from your position (dont know your altitude here), but it looks like you are almost on a level with them.
It is the trees and low cloud that make this one. What is that strange thing in the bottom left though, sun flare?
cheers, David

like this post. see, you might be told hat you have violated the proportions by keeping more sky above, but the gradual darkening of the blue is something special to note, and had you not kept so much sky, one could'nt feel this. super colors and scenery.

A classic mountain photo. It can be difficult when shoting from a forested area not to have tree trunks or branches distracting form the image but you've managed it here very well - the forested foreground and distant mountains merge beautifully.
