The taxis and cabs of Kolkata are very comfortable to travel in. If you want to take a swift ride of Kolkata, the taxis and cabs should be the first choice for they can take you easily into the lanes of Kolkata. Generally, the ambassador models are used for taxis.

Perhaps it's simply the vignetting, but this has a great "old time" look about it, another nostalgic quality. Great use of black & white for this shot, it feels a bit rough and tumble, with a great sense of life on the streets. Lovely composition to use the taxis in the foreground as the main subjects, but allowing us to still see the activity going on behind. Very nicely observed and detailed. Thanks for sharing this daily life scene of Kolkata. Have a great day ahead.

Wow this could be in the 1970s. What a fantastic, retro photo. The Black & White is perfectly suited to this style of photography and the details of the cars are impressively collected.

Superb B&W conversion and vignetting here, together with the old models, your photo looks like taken in the 50s. In some places of the world, taxis are quite expensive. It is good to hear the contrary is valid in Kolkota. I'd rather prefer to hire a cab than using the public transport for discovering the city.
