Photographer's Note
This is my humble contribution to the marvelous Durga Puja posts. I took this shot in Kumartuli in July. The artists were starting to sculpt the idols for the Durga Puja. This is before the elaborate painting and decorations have been applied. I am pleased to see so many nice pictures of Durga Puja, because I was so curious what they would look like when they are finished.

nice shot for Puja season, Christina. the artists start making the idols after the festival of 'Rathayatra' in July. this is indeed a typical shot.

In your pictures I like that I see things I can t see anywhere else. This is one of those pictures. Very good angle for capturing the idols.
