This is a photograph of a traditionally drassed bengali bride on her reception. U can see the pride on her face.
Like any other part of the World reception party (Bouvaat) is very impotent occasion of a girl's life. At this very day she is introduced to her husband's family, friends and well wishers. And they test the first cooked meal by the new bride (Natun Bou).
At this occasion bangali bride traditionally ware saree. And in sarees Benarasi mostly prefered. Because there is tradition to ware Red Benarasi on the wedding day, they avoid the red color for this occation. Except that Baluchari is also an option. The bride also ware urni to cover her hair.
In ornaments, the girl use to ware all the ornaments she was gifted form her parental house. It's a kind of show of the status of her Father's and other family member's. Girl use to ware Bala (Bangles, Tikli on forehead, A huge Nod at nose. Heavy neckleses. Earrings. Nupur at leg. And all those are made by Gold. The girl use to heavily make up. Sandal pest used to decorate her face. Also ware Sindoor prominently on her forehead.
