Photographer's Note
Chinese New Year lights in a central Qionghai Street on Hainan Island. It was always round 2c in Suzhou/ Wuzi in Central China in January so I took advantage of the 5 day break and caught a bus south. Millions of Chinese are on the move at this time of year. Best to book ahead! It was around 25c and drizzling rain. But it was still a nice improvement!

Hello Chris,
The tree festooned with lanterns makes an interesting focal point. I like the warm tints and the reflections in the damp pavements.

The photo seems to be leaning a bit, but the yellow lanterns are quite beautiful and spread a very nice warm light. Thanks to the drizzle the light is pleasantly reflected in the street.

Hello Chris,
The photograph does seem to have a slight lean which could easily be corrected in PS or a similar programme.
I love the warmth of the mood created by the amber lights and the dangling lanterns add to the sense of festivity.
The reflections confirm your notes, that it was very wet at the time!

Very difficult task you taken upon on this picture, Chris, and I merely say this because you wanted the big Y shaped tree on the scene.
I'd rather fine a wider open area to show these lantern - if possible.

Hi Chris,
Warm arange toned lights make this view so welcoming. Very traditional and stylish. Everything else here seems to be quite modern but still the result is quite pleasant. It was well worth to use long exposure.
