Photographer's Note
Unfortunately I was not able to go all the way to Pakistan when I was in the Xin Jiang-province, but I took a tree day trip up to the border on the Karakorum Highway. Up in Karakul Lake Me and some others went to visit a village where most people had their roots from Khirgistan. Beautiful people, and they were extremely warm and colorful. It's a shame they have to live under Chinese administration!
In this house it was very high under the roof, and with some lights coming in from a window above.
Technically it's scanned and used minor levels. Little bit sharpening.

Good shot! I love the contrast range, and the way you've focussed on his eye. Not sure whether I'd have preferred slightly more DOF to keep his whole face sharp though... Well captured :-D

Great contrast, and lighting, with very effective handling of the narrow depth of field. It's so sharp around the eyes that the baby's irises are discernable, yet a few cms away and it gets blury - drawing attention to the main features of the face. Well done!
