Hello Caleb,
A beautiful image, saturated with interesting elements - the boy, his expression, the interesting man, and the situation in general. The boy gives the impression that he`s older than he probably is in reality. The colors are beautiful, yet subtle. That way the tones on the boys face are more eloquently defined.

Interesting photo, Caleb,
but I don't like the way you edited it.
Highlights are way too suppressed and there's something
weird going on with midtones giving the whole frame an
unpleasant greenish/greyish/yellowish cast.
Vignetting in this case only makes the photo even darker.
Altogether lacks a punch that could've been achieved by
only slight pp-ing and enhancing the overall contrast, as
the natural light seems to be quite good, with fabric on
both figures providing some interesting shadows.
Sorry, the photo is good, but the editing doesn't work
for me.

Two great portraits, Caleb, and in such an amusing and close relationship to each other.Their situation creates a relationship that enhances both portraits. There is a thick claudiness about the colour that a touch more contrast seems to cure. But, well seen and well recorded as a slice of daily life.Regards Kevin

wonderful scene and love your subjects look: intense and serious. he seems quite sure of what he is doing too... the expression on his client's face is quite priceless too, but i like how you have focused on exclusively on the boy rather than both. i agree with robi though: the post could have been improved quite a bit through post-processing. the highlights seem muted and the greenish cast could have been easily removed in pp. on another note: i would have liked tighter crop (from the left side). that empty space distracts me a bit here.

A rather unusual photo from you, if I may say so... I like a lot the serious look of the young boy and the way he "holds" (or slaps ?) the chin of the not-so-relaxed customer ;
... the BG is interesting and I was wondering why the grass behind until I read your note - not so sure about the green tones...
+ Still, I don't understand the sort of spotlight on tht boy's shirt,
... But all this does not prevent me from appreciating the picture, the intensity of the gaze of the child directed to us really makes the shot !
Great document about children who are working at an early age, from a place where I'm always yearning for more photos and which stays forever in my heart !
