Photographer's Note

The scene from interior of the temple in Kunming. In Workshop I will show another view of this interior.

Kunming is the capital of and largest city in Yunnan Province, it is a prefecture-level city and the political, economic, communications and cultural centre of the province as well as the seat of the provincial government. Kunming is also called the Spring city due to its weather.
Population (2014)
• Prefecture-level city 6,626,000
• Urban 4,575,000.

It is a big city - from the center to the South Railway Station almost an hour by metro. Not much is left from the old Kunming. But one can find nice places. There are beautiful temples complexes. Here the Yuantong Temple. Yuantong Temple is at the foot of Yuantong Hill in the northern part of Kunming. With a history of more than 1,200 years, it is one of the grandest as well as the most important Buddhist temple in Yunnan Province. King Yimouxun of the Nanzhao Kingdom built it during the late eighth century as a continuation of Putuoluo Temple, and the restorations performed from the Qing Dynasty onward had not changed its unique mixed architectural style of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties.

In Kunming we stayed in the Youth Hostel near this temple. It was a nice place, with the staff speaking English:) and good food.

I see that it is a bit noisy. The Workshop picture had better light. But I liked this scene.
