Photographer's Note

as well as the multitude of steps, the great wall also has a series of rooms built into it to house soldiers, store food, and provide shelter from the weather and enemy arrows.

whilst in one of these enormous, dark rooms i saw my friend sitting on the ledge looking out the window. i only had a brief moment while he thought about the shot he was going to take.

the sun was quite bright outside and i've darkened this shot considerably to try and get rid of the overexposure. i also added some contrast which has taken away some of the wall's detail.

pp i extended the frame on the left side of the shot a bit to push the window further to the right.
