Photographer's Note

The Great Wall of China, a truly awesome sight and site! The Great Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan by the Yellow Sea to Jiayuguan Pass in the Gobi Desert. The Chinese have walled their cities since earliest times and during the Warring States period C5th BC extended the practice to seperate rival territories. Emporer Qin Shi Huang unified the empire in C3rd BC joined and extended the sections to form one continuos defence. For much of its history the wall was hated as it took much of the country's wealth and worked thousand's to death in its construction.
The wall is 7 metres high and 7 metres thick with 25,000 battlements.
It was amazing to walk the wall.
