Taken in front of a big door in an old alley of Beijing.It happened that there was a hole on the door by which one could peep what's behind the door.No specific meaning,just for the kind of feeling.

Hello Rick,
This is a very nice shot and you have composed it very well. Also, B/W is a good choice and the sharp focus on the lock is excellent, too. My only suggestion: I see a bicycle through the square hole but lack of DOF has blurred it almost beyond recognition unless we 'think' what it is. In my experience I have seen that most B/W photos work well if we can get sharp focus on interesting areas. If you kept the aperture down you'd have achieved sharper focus on the bicycle and hence would have got a picture where there'd be more interesting areas for the eyes to engage.
As I said, even without that the photo is great and deserves full points.

Beautiful framing, Rick! Excellent tones, and very intelligent use of selective focusing with the bicycle blurred. WOnderful photo, but I wish you waited for a person to appear at the bicycle...that would make this photo a classic.

This is really good shot! I love the framing and overall composition. B/W is good choice even you may try Sepia tone.

This is lovely Rick with fine sharpness and excellent control of depth of field. One can almost feel the metal of the door and open lock. Even without "meaning" it is an image that evokes one to create a story about the lock, about the bicycle. Fine work.
I note that you've written very few critiques. In my experience, engaging with other photographers by commenting on their photos is a sure way to attract interest in your own work, which is quite good. Certainly, its not required but it is an option to consider if you have the time and inclination. Be well.
